Washington in the West is a full-day conference designed specifically for patent and trademark practitioners. This annual event offers exceptional programming with a dedicated patent track and a dedicated trademark track, as well as outstanding opportunities to connect with leaders shaping the future of intellectual property law.
Held every February
Traditionally held in the historic Biltmore Hotel, our biggest night of the year honors those members of the judiciary who handle intellectual property matters. It also features an interactive discussion of current IP topics with a panel of prominent judges. At the Gala, LAIPLA presents its Public Service Award to a member who has made a significant contribution to the public good.

Spring Seminar is a nationally renowned intellectual property conference. Panels of distinguished IP leaders will review the key developments in copyright, trademark, trade secret, and patent law and provide insights moving forward.

TechTainment is a cutting-edge conference focusing on the dynamic intersection of technology, entertainment, and law. This conference is offered in conjunction with The Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University (ASU Law). Our mission is to explore the latest technological advancements in the entertainment industry and delve into their profound legal and business implications.

LAIPLA aims to serve as the vanguard of promoting diversity in the IP legal community. To this end, each year we award an LAIPLA Diversity and Inclusion Fellowship to two meritorious recipients.
The Diversity and Inclusion Fellowship award provides a stipend for a law student to work for 10 weeks in an in-house legal department at a participating company.
